Guiding you back to your inner love

Dr. Jenn Au

Dr. Jenn Au is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, somatic hypnotherapist, holistic bodyworker, and integrative trauma-informed practitioner specializing in nervous system regulation, trauma healing, and chronic pain.

Her work combines subconscious healing, somatic approaches, emotional processing, mind-body healing, and physical rehabilitation to support people experiencing overwhelm, anxiety, trauma, emotional disconnection, and stress-related pain conditions.

Through an integrative and body-based approach, she helps clients reconnect with themselves, build emotional capacity, regulate their nervous systems, and move toward greater authenticity, grounding, and connection.

My Early Experiences

Growing up in an Asian immigrant household, I internalized a strong pressure to constantly achieve, perform, and do more. Much of my self-worth became tied to external validation, perfectionism, and meeting expectations.

Over time, I became increasingly disconnected from my own emotions, needs, and authenticity. Although I followed the path I believed I was “supposed” to take, internally I often felt anxious, disconnected, and emotionally overwhelmed.

Looking back, I now recognize how deeply the nervous system, survival patterns, and conditioning can shape the way we relate to ourselves and move through the world.

Rock Bottom & Nervous System Collapse

At the beginning of graduate school in 2017, my nervous system reached a breaking point. The combination of academic stress, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, unresolved emotional pain, and a major life transition led me into severe anxiety, panic attacks, dissociation, overwhelm, and emotional shutdown.

For the first time in my life, I felt disconnected from myself and unable to regulate my emotions. Although I continued functioning externally, internally I felt stuck in survival mode — constantly overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, hypervigilant, and disconnected from any real sense of safety within myself.

That period ultimately became the catalyst for my healing journey.

Beginning the Healing Journey

Over time, I realized that healing was not simply about pushing through, achieving more, or intellectually understanding my emotions.

I began exploring therapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, nervous system healing, somatic work, meditation retreats, holistic healing practices, and body-based approaches that helped me reconnect with myself in a deeper way.

For the first time, I began learning how to slow down, listen to my body, care for my emotional world, and develop a more compassionate relationship with myself.

As I continued healing, I also began reconnecting with joy, creativity, authenticity, movement, community, and parts of myself that had long been disconnected through survival and perfectionism.

The Philosophy Behind My Work

My personal healing journey deeply shaped the way I approach this work today.

I believe we are not broken. Often, we are carrying nervous system patterns, survival responses, emotional wounds, and subconscious conditioning that once helped us survive.

Healing is not about becoming someone entirely different. It is about reconnecting with the parts of ourselves that became disconnected through stress, trauma, fear, pain, or survival.

My approach focuses on helping people move out of chronic survival states and toward greater regulation, embodiment, authenticity, emotional connection, and presence.

The Creation of I Am Home Holistic Wellness

I Am Home Holistic Wellness was created from a deep belief that healing happens when we feel safe enough to reconnect with ourselves. My work integrates nervous system healing, subconscious work, somatic approaches, emotional processing, chronic pain healing, and physical rehabilitation to support people in moving toward greater wholeness and authenticity.

Through 1:1 sessions, healing intensives, workshops, and retreats, I support individuals experiencing overwhelm, trauma, emotional disconnection, people-pleasing patterns, chronic stress, and mind-body pain conditions.

My intention is to create a compassionate, grounded, and inclusive space where people can safely reconnect with themselves and begin moving from survival into authentic living.

Her Philosophy

Creating Safety & Connection Together

Healing begins with creating spaces where people feel safe enough to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and explore their inner experiences with greater awareness and compassion. Dr. Jenn’s work emphasizes nervous system safety, emotional attunement, authenticity, and helping individuals feel more grounded, supported, and connected within themselves.

Reconnect to the Authentic Self in the Present Moment

Healing is not about becoming someone entirely different — it is about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that became disconnected through stress, trauma, fear, pain, or survival. Through this work, clients are supported in moving out of chronic survival states and toward greater presence, emotional connection, authenticity, ease, and aliveness.

Healing Through the Subconscious Mind, Body, and Nervous System

Many emotional patterns, stress responses, and survival states are held not only in the conscious mind, but also within the nervous system, body, and subconscious. Dr. Jenn’s approach integrates somatic, subconscious, and mind-body healing practices that support emotional processing, nervous system regulation, embodiment, and chronic pain healing at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
